The Fitzroy is set in an alternative 1950s where the world is covered in poisonous gas. The Fitzroy, a leaky submarine beached just off Margate, is the last refuge for a traditional summer holiday.
It is the first feature film written and directed by Andrew Harmer and produced by Dresden Pictures.
Andrew has always loved film and storytelling. Over the past decade Andrew has made a number of short films and low budget music videos. He has also spent many years developing his writing style through various courses at LFS and City Lit, as well as lots of hours staring at blank pieces of paper.
With a strong love of Ealing comedies, animation and fantasy, Andrew’s work often focuses on the quirky characters and stories that this world throws up.
As well as writing and directing The Fitzroy, Andrew is also working on various other scripts and his first children’s novel.
Liam began working in the film industry in 2007 when he founded Coral Bark Productions and produced and executive produced numerous short films and music videos.
His shorts have been official selection at festivals around the world such as Palm Springs Shorts International, Raindance, and Sci-Fi London. Some of his work is currently distributed through Shorts International.
In 2011, Liam and James formed Dresden Pictures to focus on producing feature film content with The Fitzroy being the first in a line up of several films they will be producing.
James’ background is predominantly in producing commercial content where he has 6 years experience working with big brands like Sony, Heineken and Nokia. He co-found Epoch Republic where he delivered digital video content for a number of clients including Apple, McDonald’s and NSPCC.
After a stint as an in-house producer at Google’s creative lab, James joined the Hugo & Cat agency where he is currently producing digital commercial content.
James’ passion has always been in film, having produced a number of festival nominated short films. In 2011, Liam and James formed Dresden Pictures to focus on producing feature film content with The Fitzroy being the first in a line up of several films they will be producing.
